This is a series of books, practical handbooks, which are written for sports teams to prevent sports injuries and accelerate injury rehabilitation.  Their content comes from a long line of practical experience working with sports teams, especially through the experience and methods that were summed up during the preparation for the 2004, 2008 and 2010 Olympic games.  This series focuses on how to solve problems with injury recovery during the whole process of training, which can be used as a reference tool by various sports coaches, athletes, doctors, researchers, and therapists who specialize in sports rehabilitation, or just sports enthusiasts.

Basketball is a highly confrontational sport, which requires athletes to break through defense, jumping repeatedly, fighting for the ball, and shooting under various physical confrontational conditions.  In addition, direction and speed change while moving are also major characteristics of this sport.  Therefore, it easily leads to sports injuries to athletes’ ankles, knees, legs, back and other parts of their bodies.  According to the National Basketball Team injury statistics report, the top four injury locations and their ratios are: ankles, 38.48%; posterior femoral muscles, 15.74%, knees, 11.7%; and back, 10.70%.
 
For basketball, Dr. Chen’s physical rehabilitation team has summed up the following physical rehabilitation training prevention and prescriptions for common sports injuries.  Common injuries for this sport include shoulder instability, posterior femoral muscles (during recovery period), Patella osteomalacia, anterior cruciate ligament injuries (during recovery period after returning to team), medial collateral ligament injuries (during recovery period), ankle instability, Achilles tendonitis, and lumbar muscle strain.  In order to ensure safe and effective training, athletes should get a comprehensive assessment before training.
